How Bad is Your Street or Sidewalk?
Answer Depends On Which Ward You Live In
Anyone who drives on Village roads knows the challenges of avoiding potholes and clumps of blacktop from failed attempts at repair. The condition of sidewalks and crumbling curbs makes walking just as challenging. Because repairing roads and sidewalks is expensive the Village only works on a few each year. Residents in the 2nd and 3rd Wards patiently wait for their neighborhood to get to the top of the list. For residents in the First Ward the wait is not bad at all.

Take a drive on the roads west of the falls and you realize the infrustructure conditions are not bad. The First Ward is the Villages smallest. It has only 27% of the villages infrastructure. It received 41% of the infrastructure work. Take a walk or ride through the First Ward and you can judge for yourself if the distribution of work has been unfair to the taxpayers in the Second and Third Wards.
Coincidentally, the Village Highway Superintendent resides in the First Ward.
