Imagine...

Revitalized housing and inviting sidewalks leading to a Community Center with a small marina at a waterfront park on Market Street…  Upscale housing for the 55 and older crowd on Franklindale Ave… Historic lighting, pocket parks with a lighted and visible waterfall in a thriving business district… Shade trees lining South Avenue with improved sidewalks and crosswalks leading to Village green spaces and playgrounds.

Those are some of the ideas that planners heard from Village residents and business people at the February 18th Waterfront Revitalization Public Visioning Workshop.

Was This Necessary?

Earlier this week three mature and seemingly healthy trees along East Main Street at Zion Park were cut down by a Central Hudson work crew. The crew was apparently given written permission by the Zion Church to cut down the trees.

WFCA to Host a Candidate Fourm

The Wappingers Falls Civic Association is pleased to be hosting a Candidate Forum.

Date: Thursday March 11
Time: 7 PM
Location: Nussbickel Building at 2582 South Avenue, which is one block south of Village Hall.

CANDIDATE DEBATE FORMAT
The forum will be divided into three segments. Each candidate can make a 2-minute opening and closing statement. The answers to each question, asked of each candidate, will be no more than 1 minute in length. Questions will be asked by Moderators Anthony Vetrano and Brian Alexander. The written questions collected will be screened for clarity and duplication only. No personal attacks are allowed. The Civic Association will provide a timekeeper. The Forum is open to the public. Seating is limited.
